Kit Car Insurance

AC Cobra replica kit car

Kit cars are different from the normal run of the production line for cars;  going outside the boundaries of normal automobile insurance requires kit car insurance. AC Cobra Kit cars are vehicles which are built by hobbyists from kits.

Kit cars are labeled as a self-assembled vehicle and are often fiberglass bodies plus come with instructions for assembly. A good tip before diving in and choosing which kit car to go for is to get a copy of the instruction book, and scan through it carefully to see any major brick walls for you.

Kit Cars are great fun to build as the car your creating resembles historic or the latest cars. One of the most built replicated cars is the AC Cobra. Owning or building Kit Cars are however not for everyone!  If become frustrated by having to change a fuse or fill your screen wash a AC Cobra Kit car will not be a wise move.

Focusing back on the AC Cobra which was a British built, designed sports car  was in Production between  1961-1967 and was a cool 2 seat roadster.

Through the 1960s AC built fewer and fewer cars up into the 1970s and eventually was filed for bankruptcy in the late 1970s’. AC’s tooling t omake the cars and later the right to use the name, were licensed by the company Autocraft. Autocraft was owned by Brian A. Angliss who’s company made Cobra parts and was a replica car manufacturer.
